Bolivar Cigars (Cuba)
The Bolivar cigars brand was established in 1902 by Jose F. Rocha in Great Britain; the brand soon moved to take advantage of the Cuban soil and by 1921 it was officially recognised as a Cuban Cigar Brand.
After Rocha's death in 1954 the brand was acquired by Cifuentes y Cia and then ultimately acquired by Habanos S.A. and Cubatabaco after the communist dictatorship took control of Cuba's once free cigar industry.
The majority of Bolivar cigars are hand-made.
