Illusione Cigares Privé Corojo review by Don José

Today we have another epic stick from Illusione, the

Cigares Privé Corojo

If this is your first time here, my reviews rate each cigar on 10 factors and each factor gets a rating out of 10 giving me an overall out of 100. The 10 factors are: Construction, Draw, Burn, Flavour, 1/3 overall, 2/3 overall, 3/3 overall, Journey (how well it flows), Value for money and Overall Enjoyment.
let’s take a look at how this stick is put together.

Brand Illusione
 Size Box-Pressed Toro (5 1/2" x 56)
Corojo AAA
Criollo '98, Corojo '99 Viso and Ligero long-fillers
Corojo tobacco was originally grown in the Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba, It was developed and grown by Diego Rodriguez at his farm Santa Ines del Corojo and was so popular in pre revolution Cuba that between the 1930s and the 1990s nearly all Cuban cigars, regardless of brand or factory, used Corojo wrappers. Today no 'pure' Corojo is grown in Cuba, rather grown exclusively in the Jamastran valley of Honduras and Western Kentucky in the United States.
This cigar uses the strain of Corojo tobacco grown in Honduras, which is considered the most of the pure Corojo leaf currently being grown.
Another note not to be scoffed at is that this stick racked up 93 points on Cigar Dojo.
This is a great looking cigar! A nice milk chocolate brown wrapper, minimal stork and a nice oily yet toothy texture. What I do find a little confusing is that its classed as a box-pressed Toro when its more of a slightly flattened Robusto to me...
Right lets get into it!
Construction   9/10
Burn 9/10
Draw 10/10
Flavour  9/10
Complexity  8/10
Strength 82%
First 1/3 9/10
Second 1/3 9/10
Third 1/3 10/10
Construction & Burn
Another exceptionally made Illusione. Construction was only very slightly let down  by a small (really small) blemish on the wrapper just by the band. Smoke bellows out of this thing too! Plenty of draw and a great burn.

Flavour & Complexity
Its not surprising given the blend that this is big on flavour! wood, leather, cocoa and a whack of spice to finish. Aroma wise this has the 'classic cigar smell'... by that I mean that the Corojo wrapper gives it a very noticeable smell that anyone and everyone would associate with cigars.
After a few lighter cigars lately this was a damn treat! Medium to Full (more on the full side) kicking up slightly as it goes and finishing with a good little punch.
What a fantastic cigar, I give this cigar a massive 94 points! one of the best cigars I have smoked this year so far.
