Today I will be reviewing the
by Casdagli Cigars (ex Bespoke)
If this is your first time here, my reviews rate each cigar on 10 factors and each factor gets a rating out of 10 giving me an overall out of 100. The 10 factors are: Construction, Draw, Burn, Flavour, 1/3 overall, 2/3 overall, 3/3 overall, Journey (how well it flows), Value for money and Overall Enjoyment.
let’s take a look at how this stick is put together.
|Size||Cotton Tail 5" x 64-52|
Dominican, Nicaragua, USA, Peru
This cigar is blended especially for Casdagli Cigars by Hendrik Kelner Jr of the famous Kelner family of Master blenders at the Kelner Boutique Factory.
I note that this cigar has been given a perfect 100 in a review previously which is amazing, however it generally sits in the early 90s (still nothing to scoff at)
A little about the wrapper itself, it comes from Cotuí, a city in the Dominican Republic and is one of the oldest cities of the New World. It is the capital of Sánchez Ramírez Province in the Cibao. It’s best known for its gold mines, but it also sits just below the splitting of the Yuta River which makes the mountainous region one of the more fertile areas of the country and a favorable home for tobacco.
--The Cotton Tail is part of the Traditional Line, and while this is the first Cotton Tail I have had, I did enjoy a Traditional line Super Belicoso while in a cigar herf with Jeremy Casdagli recently and it was outstanding.
Right lets get into it!
Construction & Burn
Fantastic construction here, closed foot with the twisted leaf made famous by the flying pig (although around long before it's release). Burn is great too, a little wonky in parts but overall correcting itself and smoking well. The wrapper is a nice deep brown, not too 'storky', slightly dry to touch but with a nice toothiness.
Flavour & Complexity
Great flavours in this cigar! It really is tasty. Dominants are Coffee, vanilla and wood with a hint of peppery spice. The complexity is the stand out for me in this cigar, it has a nice aged tobacco presence about it and the journey through the flavours is perfect. A great blend.
Medium to full, which seems to suit it nicely.
An outstanding cigar. I've only smoked a few Casdagli's to date but all of them have been great! This stick and in fact the Traditional line as a whole will very much be making a regular home in my humidor. I rated this 93 points.
